Local 2366 establishes scholarships

Local 2366 will soon be offering two $1,000 scholarships to the children of dues-paying members of Local 2366. We will post more information regarding the rules and application process in the near future.

Uvalde County Sheriff’s Deputy dies during struggle

Deputy Mike Schaefer died Christmas morning while trying to take a combative 16-year-old into custody. Hundreds were present at his funeral this afternoon in Sabinal, including law enforcement from across the state. RIP.

Death of BPA Brian Terry

Local 2366 offers its condolences to the family and friends of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry who was killed in the line of duty on December 14, 2010, near Rio Rico, Arizona. He will be missed, RIP.

AFGE Denounces Federal Pay Freeze

“This proposal is a superficial panic reaction to the draconian cuts the deficit commission will recommend,” stated AFGE National President John Gage. “A federal pay freeze saves peanuts at best and, while he may mean it as just a public relations gesture, this is no time for political scapegoating. The American people didn’t vote to stick it to a VA nursing assistant making $28,000 a year or a border patrol agent earning $34,000 per year.
