Senator Cornyn Questions Napolitano’s Mismanagement of CBP

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) addressed DHS Secretary Napolitano’s mismanagement of the department under the constraints of the sequestration. Senator Cornyn echoed the same concerns that many Border Patrol employees and informed Americans have been asking themselves. In light of the 28% reduction in time Border Patrol Agents are available to work, scheduled to take effect in April 2013, how can Border Patrol Agents possibly maintain security along the border? Local 2366 agrees wholeheartedly with the Texas Senator’s observation that, “These actions call into question the department’s commitment to its core missions and raise serious concerns about the judgment of DHS leadership”
