During the week of March 12th through March 16th, 2012, U.S. Border Patrol Explorer Post 920, from the Del Rio, Texas Border Patrol Station, conducted an Explorer Tactical Academy. Also in attendance at the Explorer Academy was Post 920’s neighbor, Explorer Post 921 from the Eagle Pass, Texas Stations. The academy was designed to challenge the 27 young men and women in attendance to discover a new level of personal strength and instill an enhanced sense of motivation, and perseverance.
The week long training focused on physical fitness, firearms training, CPR, basic first aid, search and rescue, building clearing, and active shooter training. Instruction was provided by multiple representatives from Del Rio Sector who volunteered their time for this worthy cause.
The Explorer Academy took approximately three months of planning to orchestrate successfully. In addition to the investment of time, a significant amount of money was necessary to provide the required training materials, equipment, and food for the youth participating. When the leadership of Local 2366 heard of this worthy cause, they made arrangements to contribute some of the money necessary to conduct the event. Local 2366 would like to congratulate the Del Rio Sector Explorer Programs on their success.
